Is there anybody out there?
In our quest to find life outside our planet, we have spent countless millions, and perhaps billions, of dollars studying the universe in hope that someday we would find extraterrestrial life. If the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) project would, one day, receive an intelligible message from life beyond our planet, would scientists conclude that the message must have been created and transmitted from nothing? No, the next day’s newspapers would have bold headlines “INTELLIGENT LIFE FOUND!” It would be clear to everybody that intelligent life sent the message. Then why do we believe scientists when they say the universe and life on our planet simply began out of nothing?
